Shaw Park
Shaw Park is a 30-acre park conveniently located in the city of Clayton, Missouri, and is bordered by Forest Park Parkway and Forsyth Boulevard on the south and north, and Interstate 170 on the west. Every year, it holds the annual Taste of Clayton and St. Louis Art Fair. It is the oldest and also the largest park in the region. It was named after Mayor Charles A. Shaw after he founded the park in 1935 and was later dedicated in 1937 for $280, 000, which was shared between the city of Clayton ($30, 000) and the federal government ($250, 000). The park is adjacent to the only public high school in the city (Clayton High School) and lies west of the St. Louis County Courthouse. The park features an enticing canopy of majestic trees and welcoming open grass areas with lovely gardens. If you’re looking to get away from the bustle of the city, then you might want to consider visiting Shaw Park.
